A rendezvous.
20th day of the Eternal
September started on a gloomy note with a light rain, this eventually filled my vocabulary with all the words that propagated procrastination! After a great
battle fought with all the unending drama, we decided to put on our pants and leave
the place before we end up spilling the spirit we won. Our next stop was a tea
shop, which is also a vantage point for all the birdwatchers out there. We would
just walk in to pick a glance of all the birds along with a glass of tea. This
treat provided us with some sort of crazy redemption, hope and energy required for
the day’s activity. As my friend was driving, I was still found in the shoes of
a birdwatcher enjoying all the gloss and glitter that went past by my eyes. In their
bid to fit in, this face which was hurriedly jumping and hopping to skip the
puddles synced with a straightforward memory of a girl from my school. She was
Sneha Sampath.
After a vibrantly wasted day with no life changing pivotal
events taking place, I sat with my premium model mobile phone to check out what
was trending on facebook, I saw Sneha Sampath online! Without any second
thoughts I decided to break the ice.
Me: hi Sneha I think I saw u
today morning!
Her: is it??? whr???
Me: yaa ! You wore a grey
kurti..? You were walking along that
hotel Sky park road!
Her: Lol yeah! I was wearing grey
Me: now I’m quite sure that I saw
u only, You were walking fast!!
Her: Lol is it? What were u doing there
Me: I was going to meet a friend...As
I was going, I saw your back! n was like “Oooh who is this ladki” ... I eventually
saw your face...After few moments I thought it might be u!
Her: Lol! Not bad, that u recognized me
Her: u could have stopped me
Me: now I confirmed the ladki in
grey was Sneha Sampath!
Me: today I cldn’t! But next tym
if I see u, I’ll stop n say hii
Her: Lol sure
That
night I thought I should show up and say “hi” to Sneha.
As I looked synonymous with
a person in comatose, my parents flattered me by finding a course that required
me to wake up early morning and leave, which benignly benefitted me in meeting Sneha
that day.
I took the share auto as they
would stop at our will unlike the bus service. En route, the share auto bumping
into every pothole available on the road put me through trauma and Retrospect. I
was eagerly counting each and every minute expecting a Rendezvous.
...
Voila!! The moment of truth arrived,
as I was looking through the share auto’s windshield!, The face that synced
with a straightforward memory of a girl from my school hurriedly walking along
the road again in front of my eyes. I got down and waited at the turn so that I
could see the kind of expression she chooses when she confronts me.
A rendezvous.
